Operation Balkan Tiger is a joint venture project using fire service personnel from Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service and an organisation called ITAP (Infrastructure, Training & Assistance Projects). These organisations have worked hard to enable a former British fire appliance be donated to the community of Sveti Durd, Croatia. The vehicle was formerly an operational vehicle with Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service and when the lease was finished, it was kindly donated back to us by the lease company Asset Advantage so that it could have a real value to the communities it will be serving in Croatia.
Behind the scenes, there have been countless hours spent by members of Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service and the ITAP teams carrying out various work in order to make all of this happen, to all of you, we are extremely grateful and we very much appreciate that without your assistance, this project would not have been possible. In addition to the team involved with the delivery of the fire engine and training of the Croatian colleagues we would also like to thank the following organisations, companies and individuals for their support in making this happen:
Rofotech Electrical Services
Eurotunnel
Gainsborough Lions
Tenterden Rotary Club
ATS Euromaster
Kent County Council (Shepway & Ashford)
Mr Clive Mason
Mr Rob Clarke and his team (Notts FRS)
Amberg Fire Service (Germany)
